| On the island of Phuket there was a serious car accident, which killed two tourists from Russia.
31-year-old Andrei Mironov and 29-year-old Vasily Repnikov were fatally injured after their motorcycle collided with a pick-up truck on the slope of the Patong hill. The accident occurred on the evening of February 10 2019.
As the police said, at the time of the accident, the Russians on a motorcycle were in the oncoming lane and were going down the slope when they were caught up and hit by a pickup truck. The victims were immediately sent to Patong Hospital, but the men died from the injuries.
The driver of the pickup turned out to be a local resident, 47-year-old Tavorn Klasuek. After the accident, he was tested for blood alcohol and other prohibited substances, the test gave a negative result.
It is known that young people from Russia arrived in Phuket on Thursday 7 in February and were going to return to their homeland in February 19.
