| In Thailand, more than 20 Chinese tourists saved a sinking boat.
More 20 tourists from China were rescued from the water after the speedboat on which they were transported to Samet Island in Rayong province in Thailand, encountered an unknown underwater obstacle, turned over and sank, the online version of the newspaper Khaosod reported on Thursday.
The accident of the boat occurred around 14.00 local time (10.00 Moscow time), reports the publication. On board the boat were 23 tourist from China, a local guide and the captain. All of them were in the water, two tourists were slightly injured, the report said.
During the first minutes after the accident 23 tourist and guide were rescued from the water by the crews and passengers of other boats. The captain of the overturned boat fled, imperceptibly leaving the scene of the accident, and was apparently picked up by some of the fishing vessels in the area, as the police surrendered ashore in the afternoon in the Rayong province, the newspaper reported.
Two tourists who received minor injuries were taken to the provincial hospital, where they were provided with necessary medical care, the report said.
The police opened a case on suspicion of careless navigation, which created a danger to the life and health of the passengers of the vessel. The police checks the license and other necessary documents from the company that owns the overturned boat, reports the publication.
