The largest animal relocation in the history of the Kingdom will begin in a month, when the famous metropolitan zoo will be closed.
At the end of September, the 90 species of animals, pets of the Dusit Zoo, will be relocated to six other zoos in Thailand. The animals will be relocated to the Khao Kaew Open Zoo in Chonburi, the Chungmai Zoo, the zoos in Nakhon Ratchasima, Songkhla, Ubon Ratchatthani and Khon Kaen.
Scientists believe that it will take four months to move animals.
Some animals will remain in their new homes forever, many animals will return to Bangkok in three years to a new zoo in Patum Thani, to more spacious reservations.

Director of the open zoo Khao Keo in Pattaya Mr. Attapon Shrihayarun:
Moving animals is a challenge for zoologists. The state organization of zoological parks should ensure that all animals are healthy before moving.
After a medical examination in new zoos, animals will be quarantined, in addition, zoologists will have to help animals adapt to the new environment.
Animals that can travel long distances, such as reptiles, will travel to more distant zoos, to Chiang Mai and to Songkhla.
Fragile animals - two giraffes and Mae Mali, 52-year-old hippo, star of the Dusit zoo, will move to Khao Keo.
“For Mae Mali in Khao Keo there is a big pond, but if she prefers a smaller one, the zoo is ready to build it.
Most of the children of Mae Mali live in Khao Keo, so this will be a kind of family reunion, ”says
Director of the Open Zoo in Pattaya.
Other Dusita pets will also go to the Khao Keo Zoo, these are camels and rare birds.
A new metropolitan zoo will be built in the Thon Buri district in Pathum Thani province, near Bangkok province. It will be three times the size of the Dusit Zoo. Land for the construction of a new zoo allocated
By His Majesty Macha Vachiralongkorn, King of Thailand, Rama X.
Dusit Zoo was opened to the public in 1938, becoming a landmark in the Thai capital. The zoo is located next to the Ananta Samah Throne Hall and the Vimarnmek mansion.
