| Thailand’s Princess Ubolratan and Prime Minister Prayut Chan-Och expressed deep regret to the people of France after a great fire destroyed most of Notre-Dame de Paris on Monday evening, April 15 2019.
"Despite the fact that I am not a Christian or a citizen of France, what happened was very sad. Especially because it happened right before Easter," Ubolratan wrote in her Instagram, the main means of communication with the public. "My heart appeals to the people of France and Catholics around the world."
Thai government spokesman Virahon Suhondkhapatipak also said in a press on Tuesday that General Prayut "expresses his condolences and support to the government and the people of France."
"This is a tragedy, because this cathedral is historic and of great importance to the people of France. We believe that the French government will be able to quickly restore it," said Virakhon.
