20 May in Thailand begins the rainy season. This is indicated by the forecast of the Meteorological Department of Thailand, which gives a preliminary analysis of the weather situation for the 2019 rainy season.

Thailand's weather department announced 20 May as the official start of the monsoon season. Deputy Director General of the Department of Meteorology of Thailand, Mr. Kornravi Sittichivapak:

Thailand officially enters the rainy season on Monday 20 May, as the weather criteria will correspond to a period with frequent rainfall due to the prevalence of seasonal monsoon winds over the region.

It is expected that the rainy season of 2019 in the upper parts of Thailand will end in mid-October, and in the southern regions of the country in January of the future of 2020.
The total rainfall is expected to be less during this rainy season than in the previous year, especially from mid-May to June and from late June to July.
Heavy and frequent rains are expected in August and September, along with a shift of tropical cyclones moving over the upper parts of Thailand.
According to the forecast of the Department of Meteorology, only one tropical cyclone must pass through Thailand or come close to it in the 2019 year.
From mid-May, thunderstorms with gusty winds are observed in most parts of the country in the north, northeast, central, east and south regions.
According to weather forecasters from 17 to 19, the amount of precipitation in the upper part of Thailand will decrease, but in the south rainy weather will persist in some regions with increasing wind and wind waves to 2-3 meters.
