Thailand's Meteorological Department announced February 21 as the start of 2019 summer of the year in the Kingdom.

The beginning of each climatic season in Thailand is announced by the National Weather Department. The changing season in the country is determined by the climatic conditions in the Pacific Ocean, the direction and strength of the wind. According to observations of the change of winds, weather forecasters conclude that the new season is approaching.
The onset of the meteorological summer means that the temperature will rise and the difference between day and night temperatures will decrease. It is expected that the maximum daily temperature in the eastern, northeastern and central provinces will reach + 40 ° C.
The hottest weather is expected in seven provinces of Thailand - Mae Hong Son, Lampang, Uttradit, Sukhothai, Tak, Nakhon Sawan and Kanchanaburi, where, according to the forecast, the thermometer will rise to + 43 ° C.
In southern Thailand, air temperatures are expected to + 39 ° C.
According to the meteorological forecast, it is expected that the weather in the summer of 2019 will be higher in Thailand by 1-2 degrees, compared with last year.
  • The hottest day in history was registered in the northern province of Utrande 27 on April 1960, when the air temperature was + 44,6 ° C.

  • In second place is 28 on April 2016, when the scorching sun in Mae Hong Son province made the thermometer fly up to the + 44,4 ° C mark.
