What to expect
To the pleasure of those who love firearms in general, and to shoot from one in particular, we offer to visit a wonderful place: Pattaya Shooting Range. In Pattaya there are several places where you can dodge targets. We work with Pattaya Shooting Range, because here there are optimal distances for shooting and the most extensive selection of weapons compared to other places. Pattaya Shooting Range is located a bit uncomfortable, but transfer provided by us smooths it out.
When the author of this article was 13... 15-year-old boy, then perhaps he would have sold his soul to the devil for the opportunity to turn a real gun in his hands and bang around somewhere! So if you are on holiday with children of that age, be sure to visit Pattaya Shooting Range. Children will be delighted and they will boast something before their peers.
Weapons in Shooting Range
With regards to gun samples presented here. Guns often change as wear and replacement for more modern ones. bBut in general, the range is constant. It consists mainly of pistols and revolvers of caliber 9 mm Parabellum and 38 Special: Beretta M9, Glock, Browning High Power, CZ-75, etc. Once there was even a relict "Parabellum" artillery model, but unfortunately today it is no longer there. There is always a choice of 45 caliber pistols (11.43 mm), such as Colt 1911 and its modifications. Well, something from small-caliber samples under .22LR. For example, Walter P-22 or Tauras. Long-barreled weapons are limited to several 12 caliber pump shotguns, a bolt small-caliber rifles, and copies of AK-47, M-16 / M-4.
Features
There should be a few reservations so that you can compare the expected with what is in reality:
- All those who would like to shoot from the "real" AKM, M-16, or something like that, are in for some disappointment. Real combat models of automatic weapons cannot be seen here, as indeed in any other small dash of Pattaya. There are copies of combat automatic rifles (and this is very conditional copies, only superficially resembling), actually shooting with small-caliber ammunition. That is, compared to real army weapons, there is practically no sound from shots and recoil.
- In all shooting galleries in Pattaya and in the review, ammunition for pistols and revolvers with only shell-free bullets is also offered. Whole lead - no coating with copper, nickel silver or steel. For large-caliber weapons like the Colt 1911, where the bullets have an initial speed lower than the speed of sound, this is still all right. But already for 9-mm guns it is highly undesirable, and no matter what tricks the ammunition manufacturers go, such accurate shooting as shell bullets can hardly be expected. Less and hand-perceived power recoil.
- The 38 Special and 357 Magnum cartridges for various revolver models are equipped with all-lead flat-headed bullets recessed flush into the long shell. These cartridges are designed exclusively for sports, they have a slightly smaller weight of gunpowder as compared to army cartridges and one cannot expect that sound and that recoil, which are characteristic of the latter. This is especially noticeable in the case of the 357 Magnum.
- In any shooting range of Pattaya are too short, downright "children's" distance, not exceeding 20 meters. Optimally, it would be at least 35-40 meters, but that is - it is.
- Despite the fact that you hold the real weapon in your hands and shoot a lot out of it, complete freedom will not be here anyway. Although it is much more than in the rifle complexes of the same Israel, it does not compare with the liberalism of similar institutions in the United States. For you this kind of shadow will follow the Thai instructor. It is not allowed to independently equip a pistol magazine or a revolver drum, despite the absolute safety of this process. The weapon is transferred from the hands of the instructor into your hands already equipped (for some reason, sometimes with a cocked hammer, which is a violation in itself).
- There are no Soviet types of weapons in Pattaya shooting galleries. Both because of the lower prevalence in comparison with Western samples, and because of the difference in consumed ammunition.
- Occasionally it happens that a weapon with a large number of shots and therefore loose. Not to say that it was often, but sometimes it happens.
- High price for ammo. For example, one 9-mm pistol cartridge costs 50-55 Thai Baht, 38 Special and 45 ACP to the Colt - about the same. This is most frustrating, especially when there is an idea of what the factory price of one cartridge is.
In other words, it is difficult to imagine any serious professional training or shooting at a sporting result. Of course not. This is a pure attraction for those who would like to hold Western (often American) weapons in their hands and feel like a cowboy on the prairie! Or just find out how it is - shoot and fall from a real gun!
