Except for the tour from Pattaya to Phuket and the islands adjacent to it, Koh Kud (some speaks as Ko Kood, or Koh Kud, Koh Kut) is the most distant island from Pattaya, which can be reached without a flight, that is, by land-sea. And indeed, Koh Kood is geographically almost on the border of Thailand with Cambodia - a neighboring state. Accordingly, it is among the largest islands on the East Coast of Thailand - the wildest and devoid of developed infrastructure. On the other hand, Koh Kood has untouched nature and rest completely corresponds to the concept of “eco-tourism”!

Trip from Pattaya to Koh Kud - Description

 About 05:00 in the morning you are taken away from your hotel in Pattaya on a comfortable small air-conditioned bus. The first stop will be in order to have breakfast (take a lunch box with you from the hotel). The second is on the territory of an old semi-abandoned monastery. Which is known among tourists and guides under the name: "Temple of the Golden Bell". Firstly, here on a picturesque and rather steep mountain the ladder climbs in a rather tolerable condition and do not be lazy to climb it up! You will enjoy a magnificent panorama of the surroundings and all the way up and down you will be accompanied by curious monkeys. And secondly, here you can feed monkeys.

 Practically up to the pier, the road exactly coincides with that, as if you were going to another island - Koh Chang. This is not surprising, since Koh Chang and Koh Kood are the two largest islands of the vast archipelago of several dozen smaller islands. Only Koh Chang is certainly larger and with a more developed infrastructure.

 But for the subsequent crossing to the island you are brought to another pier, a little further than the one from which the crossing to Koh Chang is carried out. But the very nature of the crossing is different. It is carried out on catamaran or a speedboat (a high-speed two-or three-engine boat with an awning from the sun). The journey by sea to the island will take an hour. Sea part of the trip is quite interesting too. Half an hour later, small islands begin to meet across the open sea, and the outlines of Koh Kood are shown ahead and slightly to the left. The boat will pass by almost the entire west coast, including a strait between Ko Kood and one of the small islands of the archipelago. Very picturesque pictures open up, especially in clear weather! They are exactly like those who live in cold Europe who usually imagine the advertising of Bounty Island! Namely - the purest blue water, white sand along the banks and tall coconut palms growing with a slope to the water!

In addition to the speed of the crossing, the speedboat is convenient because you can get close to the shore on it. Landing on the island you will be right on site. There, for these purposes, there is a special wooden pier and it is no longer necessary to go anywhere on the island of Koh Kud itself.

Klong Hin Beach Resort hotel

The hotel on Koh Kood is called the Koh Kud Klong Hin Resort and is a series of single-storey bungalows standing among the coconut groves and greenery. Each bungalow of Klong Hin Beach Resort is equipped with tropical shower room, air conditioning, TV, mini-bar, and also has a small loft overlooking the green area and the beach. By the way, the beach itself is also called Klong Hin Beach.

 No transport through the hotel does not pass, there is no navigation near the lagoon. So, it is very quiet place. Only the rustle of leaves, the sound of the surf and the singing of birds! You can use the equipment at the hotel, for example, try to fish from the rocky shore at the edge of the hotel. If we talk about entertainment, then the only thing available on site is a disco in the evenings, and even the opportunity to rent a motorbike and ride along island roads.

 On the next day after breakfast you can arrange with local guide about a trip to the landmark of Koh Kud - Klong Chao Waterfall, lost in the wilds of the island. As far as broken and dirty island roads allow, you will be brought so close to the beginning of the ascent to the waterfall. Shuttle service is provided in open songteo. But you still have to climb to the waterfall only on foot. It is not too much to go (about half a kilometer) and it is always very stuffy along the way. You are surrounded by right and left impassable jungle! But this hike is worth it! Be sure to swim in the deep lake with the purest water formed by this beautiful waterfall and jump into the water from the rope bungee equipped especially for this! Unforgettably! Just carefully step over the boulders on the waterfall. As well as on the famous Erawan Falls in the program to Kanchanaburi River Kwai, they slip under your feet.

 Departure from Koh Kood will be at 12:00 so that the group can return to Pattaya by nine or the latest by ten in the evening.
